Why LinkedIn is not the best place to hire product people fast?

And where you can find product people who are ready for the next career opportunities?

For HR people some of the biggest pain points when it comes to product [people]are in recruitment:

- where to find them,

- attract them,

- how to create a strong Employee Value Prop and sell the opportunity?

As an active member of several product communities, I wanted to share a few tips to HR, so you know us — product people — better, when it comes to where to find and how to attract us to help your organization build good products.

Product people understand that finding a good fit between their skills and the product organizational needs is hard. So, usually, you will find a lot of chatter on LinkedIn between product professionals (Data Analysts, Designers, UX Researchers, Marketers, and managers). This way they keep their profile high and constantly scanning their networks for their next perfect career move. It takes time and patience to find that perfect opportunity for them.

If you need to hire fast, don’t expect that these “talkers” are ready to help you. They will assess the opportunity and might decide to have an interview but with no high intention to proceed with an opportunity.

Instead, find communities where product people are more intentional in their job search.
